I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.
Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
